Our education system inspires the next generation.

The Global and Sustainable Development Institute (GASDI) was established by the Senate of Osun State University in October, 2018 with a mandate to address issues of Sustainable Development in unique and effective ways that can fast-track the attainment of the Sustainable Developement Goals (SDGs). As an interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary instiute, with faculties drawn from various disciplines within and outside UNIOSUN, the GASDI is committed to training high level human resources in various sectors.

The Institute has through its various programmes and activities contributed immensely to the towering image of Osun State University. The GASDI continues to play leading role in the promotion of academic excellence and training of human resources.Moreover,the Institute runs a weekly radio programme, UNIOSUN Solutions Forum, which aims to cement the town and gown relationship, and make available in the public domain knowledge and awareness about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals as well as how they can be realized by individuals and communities.

Admission Requirement

For Msc (Academics & Professional)

Provided the University's matriculation requirements are satisfied, an intending candidate for admission into the master degree must have Bachelor degree in any relevant course.The candidate must also have at least 5 credit passes including English Language, One Nigerian Language and any other subjects in the sciences, social sciences, management or arts at GCE, NECO, NABTEB or SSCE obtained at not more than two sittings. Candidates must present original copies of their certificates for screening as Statements of Results and/or Result Slips are unacceptable.Submission of official academic transcript is a prerequisite for admission. Candidates with 3 class grade or HND in relevant areas from recognized institutions can apply for Professional master programme.

Admission Requirement

MPhil/PhD && PhD

Applicants to the PhD programme must satisfy the matriculation requirement of UNIOSUN.Admission to the PhD Degree Programme is open to graduates of UNIOSUN and university/tertiary institutions recognized by the UNIOSUN Senate and the National Universities Commission in all fields of human endeavour. Such applicants must have a minimum of Second Class Lower degree.The applicant must satisfy the minimum matriculation requirements of the UNIOSUN. The PhD Degree programme will be for duration of four semesters, full-time.The first two semesters will be for the taught courses and seminars while the third and fourth semesters are for writing the thesis.A part-time programme shall normally last for a period of eight semesters, four of which will be for course work and the remaining four for writing of thesis.
